ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Lisa Jones Johnson first began writing professionally in law school. But it was as a screenwriter where she found her true voice co-writing screenplays which spanned from college comedies to murder mysteries and sitcoms. A DEAD MAN SPEAKS is her first novel.
She is the Chief Executive Officer of Comedy Express Television, Inc. Comedy Express, a new cable network targeted to the young adult 18-34 demographic and a multi-platform approach to reaching the target audience on the internet, in the mobile space, and at live events.
Ms. Jones Johnson has extensive experience in entertainment and media. She graduated with honors from Harvard University and Harvard Law School and initially practiced corporate law in New York City for Debevoise & Plimpton. There, she concentrated on mergers and acquisitions and leveraged buyouts. Prior to joining Comedy Express she was Executive Vice President of Development and Operations for Western International Syndication. At Western, she Executive Produced a variety of television programs including "On the Cover" for Pax and "Live in Hollywood" for syndication. Her past experience also includes: serving as the acting Chief Operating Officer of Al Anwa, a privately-held real estate portfolio that included the Ritz Carlton Hotels in New York, Houston, Aspen, and Washington D.C.; as well as her position as Broadcast Counsel at CBS where she negotiated CBS's billion dollar deal with Major League Baseball, which was one of the largest television rights deals at the time. She also Executive Produced "For the Love of the Music" for Motown of records which included guest appearances by pop and jazz legends including StevieWonder, Chaka Khan and Joshua Redmon. Her television Executive Producer credits include over 130 half-hour episodes for broadcast television as well as a two-hour made for television movie for the Sci Fi Network and 22 hours for syndication. Ms. Johnson is also bi-lingual in French, having grown up in Paris, France and Port Au Prince Haiti, where her father was a diplomat. Ms. Johnson lives in Los Angeles with her husband and their 2 year old son. |
